- Generic Name or Active Ingredient:
Albendazole
- Uses:
To eradicate worms or parasites from gut and other tissues. It is effective against threadworm or pinworm, roundworm, whipworm, tapeworm and hookworm.
- How This Medicine Works:
It kills the worms by preventing them from having sufficient nutrients. This causes the eggs, larvae and adult worms to be also affected.
- Do Not Take This Medicine :
- If you are allergic to albendazole or any ingredients thats is in the medication or any drugs similar to albendazole such as mebendazole and thiabendazole.
- Before You Start To Take This Medicine :
- Inform your pharmacist or doctor if you liver problems.
- Inform your pharmacist or doctor if you are or plan to get pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
- Consult a doctor before using this medicine in children.
- Taking With Other Medication:
Inform your pharmacist or doctor if you are taking any other medication, supplements, vitamins or herbal preparations, as some medicines can interfere with each other.
- How to use this medicine:
Follow the directions on your medication label carefully, and ask your pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand.
- How to take
- The usual dose for adults and children older than 2 years of age is 2 tablets as a single dose. This medication can be taken on an empty stomach. It may also be crushed or chewed or swallowed whole.
- When to take
- Usually at night, or as instructed by your doctor.
